How we use the information you provide us:

Online Volunteering:

Our volunteer form asks you to provide us with your contact information. We also ask you to tell us how you want to help the campaign. The information collected here is used to send you updated information about the Hannon campaign and to help us match your interests to available campaign activities. If you provide us with your phone number, we may call you to inform you of events and activities to participate in. We will never sell or rent this information to any other entities.

Online Contributions:

According to state law, we are required to use our best efforts to collect and report to the State Board of Elections  your name, address and amount of your contribution.

We also request that you provide us with your telephone number and e-mail address. By providing your telephone number and email address we can quickly contact you if follow-up on your contribution is necessary under New York State election law. We will never sell or rent this information to any other entities.

Children’s Protection:

Citizens for Hannon fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and its accompanying FTC regulation, which establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the internet.  We do not knowingly collect personal or contact information from children under 13, and our site is not intended to solicit such information from children under 13. .

Protection of your information:

There are several security measures in place at Citizens for Hannon to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of the information under our control. Our server is located in a locked, secure environment. When you contribute online, we use a secure server and SSL to protect your credit card number and other personal information during transmission.
