State Senator Kemp Hannon has a strong, clear and consistent
record as a tax cutter. In fact, since 1995, he has
worked to cut 19 different taxes more than 90 times
-- saving New York taxpayers a cumulative total of
approximately $165 billion.

Fighting for Property Tax Relief
and Reform
I've been pushing for major changes in the property tax system - especially as it's used in
financing school districts. In August 2008, both a 4% Property Tax
cap and measures to reduce costs, share services
and the
State to assume certain costs, were passed in the
Senate. This effort continues the work from prior Legislative sessions to reform
school finances, enhance school budget openness and reform the
the school budget voting process.
